Hailing from Huntington Beach, California Odd Project formed in the fall of 2000. After recording two demos, which wasnt what they were looking for musically, they underwent a couple line-up changes and the band continued to write material. The band's most recent 2003 demo contains material that Odd Project excelled in: with influences ranging from metal, to hardcore, to emo, due to the diversity of musical tastes between the band members. The music is aimed towards combining a punch in your face sound with uplifting melodies to create an aggressive, yet emotional feeling. The demo caught the ears of many in the record industry leading the band to sign a multi-album deal with Indianola Records.
 A Hero's Trial, The demo opens with hard pounding but emotional thrill ride of hardcore metal and screamo sounds. With melodic and moving guitar riffs, steady and powerful drumming to combat the incredible screams, the band projects a punishing sound combating the dark emotional lyrics.

and what an elegant dance we could make it, make it seem. and every happy memory of us is slowly playing in my mind. and Im transfixed by her smile and her laughter.

A Hero's Trial
so this is what it feels like when dreams come crashing down. and the lies you spoke no longer hover out of reach. this is where the stones we so carefully built our future on slip into the sea. there's the bitter taste of remorse in my mouth, and the shadow of betrayal on my face.the tears have been flowing for so long i forgot how to stop...her defense was up and the verdict was in.
"i need to see you tonight", i said.
"im scared", was her reply.

i'll forget you ever thought of yourself without me, and brought to my attention just how lonley this world can be. just take it all back. we both know i can happily act naive. and these blankets of hope that used to smother me are now mere threads... slipping through my caullused fingers. im sorry you took every word i said to be a promise.

WOOO. Guess what that is ^^!! its the new album cover for Odd Projects new CD!! they went and got the CD recorded somewhere back east just recently! it will be mine! when it comes out. but its awesome, its gonna have the Silver screen lovers on it. thats an awesome song. |
